Business Process Modelling
Course Description
Arguably better than 'Use Case' for business
process modelling for all but the most trivial projects, the Data Flow Diagram technique
supports critical project management requirements that 'Use Case' does not. |
For example it is an excellent way of scoping
processing and therefore helps to ensure that estimation is effective, it provides input
into risk management, has an explicit process for Business Process Improvement (BPI) and
can be easily tested for completeness. |
It is not a transaction based view of processing
like Use Case. Once at that level of detail then 'Use Case' or another transaction
modelling technique is appropriate. |
This course takes the Data Flow Diagramming
technique from project initiation through documenting a current system to Business System
Options and then to documenting the required solution. It ends at the point at which
Use Case or similar techniques are used to document the required transactions and
compliments the Use Case Training Course. |
It is targeted at Analysts and Business
Analysts, and at Systems Analysts and Project Managers who perform analysis. It
complements the transaction modelling courses (i.e. Use Case and Flow Charting). |
