Logical Class Modelling
At the heart of UML lies the Class Diagram. This
model is the one that is used to derive objects, the form of modularisation unique to the
Object Orientated approach. The other UML techniques support its development. |
This course puts the Class Diagram technique
within the context of the development process. Its primary focus is the development of the
Logical Class Diagram, the precursor to the Physical Class Diagram. However it also covers
the practical aspects of converting the Logical Class Diagram to a Physical Class Diagram
and includes mapping guidelines for converting a Class Diagram to a Relational Data
Design. |
A number of themes are developed during the
course including:
- cross validation using other UML modelling techniques;
- identification and application of analysis patterns;
- physical design implications of analysis patterns.
The course is aimed at Analysts, Business
Analysts and Systems' Analysts. The development of a Class Diagram is a non-trivial
exercise. This Course is designed to progressively build the delegates confidence and
ability in class modelling. Delegate performance is formally assessed throughout the
Course. |
